What is laundry paddle?

A laundry paddle, also commonly known as a washing dolly, is a traditional laundry tool used for agitating clothes during the washing process. It is a long, thin wooden stick or handle with a rounded or flat end. The end of the paddle is dipped in water and soap, and then used to beat, pound, and twist the clothes inside a tub or bucket to help loosen dirt and grime. The laundry paddle was commonly used in the past, before the invention of modern washing machines. Today, it is still used by some as a nostalgic tool, or for handwashing delicate or heavily soiled items.
